A permanent fourth regular co-host is announced and that is just the beginning. The fifty-first episode of PolyCast, an official podcast of Apolyton Civilization Site (ACS), is now netcasting. Entitled "Regular Defined Loosely", it runs 44m59s in length. Its panel is made up of core co-hosts Daniel "DanQ" Quick, Makahlua, Imran Siddiqui and Annalee "Cartimandua" Barney with first-time guest co-host John "bt_oz".

The summary of topics is as follows:

- 04m43s | News
Three Civilization IV: Colonization items from a preview to one set of screenshots, a second and then a supplement marking its predecessor.
- 10m42s | Mailbag
Feedback on Episode 50 with Sid Meier and John "bt_oz" on being a longtime listener now guest co-hosting for the first time.
- 16m58s | Senate
Justifying the flanking promotion, when "All Hell Broke Loose" and how Sid's Sushi Co. can be really dangerous in Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword.
- 24m46s | Miscellaneous
Dan's recurring 'Top Ten' list series returns: this time, ranking "1000 Clues You Play Civ IV Too Much".
- 27m44s | Forum Talk
Considering a unit-per-tile limit in Civ, why can't ships be sunk by Fighters and/or Bombers, and in Civ4Col choosing which nation you become after independence.
- 37m55s | Miscellaneous
A suggestion for what could be the Civ series theme song.

- Intro/Outro | Miscellaneous
A permanent fourth regular co-host for the show is announced, where to get the lowdown on Civ4Col, Civilization: Revolution is already a "Strategy Game of the Year" and the most hilarious "angry" face in Civ IV.

I'm sure I posted in this thread earlier today... Must have pushed the wrong button or something

Anyway, a new episode of PolyCast and a fresh cup of coffee turns out to be a great way to start a Sunday. The return of the top ten list was a nice surprise, I've missed it.

:king:

Yes, it's been a few months since that feature last appeared on the show. I enjoy bringing it back when the opportunity presents itself, e.g. I come across a Civ-themed list thread I hadn't before. :D

Woot and congrats to the new episode. I'm listening to it right now. Love it so far and I loved your last episode with Sid. Great work like always.

 -- looking forward to further feedback when you've listened to it all then.

and I loved your last episode with Sid.

Great work like always.
Thanks, and thank you for being a regular listener. :viking:

Wow... I guess you've started inviting random people to your Podcast because News in the Civ Community is slow... or you're just bored lol.

I know someone interesting you should invite on the Polycast.

Sisiutil, who does the ALC thread on CivFanatics, He post his games on the thread and uses the advice of the CivFanatics Community to help him play his games, which helps other players improve their gameplay also.

It's probably better explained if you read the threads yourself

No, not random :) or out of bordeom -- John was chosen to guest primarily given the voicemail he left expressing an interest in appearing on the show. As it was, the time between when he left this message and when he appeared on the show was almost three months due to several factors.

Ultimately, if a person is not interested in guesting then they won't. That said, we appreciate the lead and will follow-up on it. :yup:

Hope you enjoyed this episode. :D
