when you build hollywood and rock'n'roll wonder is the only benifit from this to sell the hit singles, and what bonus does it give the civ how bought it, ie increased happiness?

The other civs get the same effect from the singles / musicals / movies as you, i.e. increased happiness. These are bascally luxury resources which you can distribute like silk, gold etc.
