I dont know if this is in another thread...I have just finished reading "Racist and Stereotypical" thread from start to finish and I have a headache!!

What does this mean please:

Taken from infocenter:
Population Growth: Size 1 and 2 cities require 20 food to grow. (You can see a size 1 city in the German GameStar video, and a size 2 city in the preorder video) After that it takes 40 food to increase the city's population by 1, no matter how large the city is.

Is it that a city's size will be exponentially increasing until maxed out rather than exponentially decreasing?

It means that, except for the very smallest cities, all cities will grow at the same rate.

If you have two units of excess food each turn, it will take 20 turns to increase your city population by one. Unlike prior Civs, this will be true whether your city has a population of three or ten.

Of course, city growth can still be slowed down by the limits of the surrounding terrain for food growth.

Yes, apparently resources can run out in Civ III (unlike Civ II where they were permanent) so this may impact population growth.
