Hi everyone. I just got my Surface RT and so far I am loving it. I like it so much that comparing it to me previous iPad I consider it to be more of a computer than a Tablet. So, I was wondering , what is the prospect for some sort of Civ 5 to be on Surface RT because that would make my buy.

I doubt it. I don't think the Civ code could be ported to the ARM code, which is missing a lot of stuff.

Plus, it's written in c++ (guessing here, but educated guess), it certainly won't work.

I do like playing it on my surface pro, however!

How does it run on the pro? I was considering getting a Surface but wanted to be able to run Civ on it. Just don't know if it would be worth it though.

Runs great. I usually only play standard maps on it, not sure if it would bog down in end game on huge maps.

You need to figure out the scaling, and I prefer the mouse over the touchscreen method, but touchscreen does work for airplanes and stuff. I also like to hook it up to a large monitor, and then play away!

Oh, and the Surface is definitely worth the cost. It does everything the IPad does, but runs all Windows compatible software (including a bunch of games). There's posts in /r/surface about playing League of Legends, WoW, and some of the newer games on lower settings just fine.

As a laptop, its a completely comparable ultrabook. The battery life isn't Awesome, but decent.

Nice. I just have a hard time justifying the cost when I can get a laptop for less with a lot more memory. If I had extra money I would probably jump into it. I would love to play civ with a touchscreen.
