I found the xml files that detail the natural disasters. If you did the standard installation of the game on your computer, you should be able to follow this path:Do you know if it's possible to adjust the frequency of natural disasters (apparently the setting for this in the game setup only effects intensity, not frequency)? They seem way too frequent and it feels like that would fit in well with these other changes if you're open to it.

If you know how to edit xml, all you should have to do is "comment out" that whole page and it will render it completely ineffective.
I did that on numerous things in Civ V and Civ VI and it generally works very well. Something you don't like? Comment that **** out! LMAO
Finally played VII yesterday and was initially very impressed until, right before the end of the Exploration era, 3 of my cities got absolutely demolished by "random" natural disasters.
I like a challenge as much as the next guy, but this issue highlights a huge problem i see with the way most games are programmed these days. In lieu of actually decent programming, devs will instead choose to buff the AI while nerfing the player. I saw that in VI when you set the barbarians to raging. The barbs are spamming out 15 units per turn while you struggle to produce 1 every 15 turns. I don't care how good of a Civ player you are or how good your strategy is, there's just no possible way to overcome those kind of odds.
To me, it's like playing with a little kid who gets mad that you're winning and simply throws all your pieces on the floor instead of actually trying to play the game in a reasonable, strategic fashion.
So yes, i'm finna go comment out all those stupid ass so-called "random" disasters, un-tick the crises box (another HUGE freaking joke), and have another go at it. I'll get back to ya......
