Just wondering, what do you think is better, power or culture (I know it sounds kindof newbish but my little level step is almost putting me on the newbish level!!!)

So,

I will say again that power is better because the only thing that culture is good for is flipping and unflipping cities. Power does that much faster.

Like Tomoyo said, power is a better indicator, however, neither of them are totally 'the best way' of comparing. Culture can easily shift by building a couple wonders and improvements in your golden age - ever notice how the culture curves are bigger, and rounder? The culture graph is pretty not helpful - if you want to see how other civs compare to your culture, just go to the culture screen (F5). And for power, go to the Military Screen (F3). Put in a manner that is almost wrong, the F3 and F5 screens are the text versions of the graphs. (Don't remember it that way, that's not really quite right).

I would have to say that a combination of the two is always good. Culture is good, because it prevents, as Ginger Ale and Tomoyo said, flipping, and it may even flip some cities over to your side, which is always a nice surprise. However, power is more important, as it gives you control over which cities you want, and it is essential for defending yourself. As well, culture is helpful in controlling recently captured cities, which have a habit of flipping back if your culture is weak.

I like culture for cultural victory an flip enemy city's. But the power is necesary to control your Civilization. Once in a game I flip 8 Aztecs cities. (Of course, I have all the wonders) Try it. :goodjob:
