We have plenty of elite cavs, which means plenty of chances for a Great Leader. What should we do in the event that we get a Great Leader? What if we get multiple ones?

1 - Build another army.
2 - Take it into the mainland that turn and rush a wonder.

Here's the procedure of what to do if we get a Great Leader during the Greek War.

If we get a Great Leader, and decide to rush a wonder:

1 - Move the Great Leader into Audiac city.
2 - Select a galleon (or Transport) with 4 movement points from Raven's Flight.
3 - Move it 3 tiles southwest into Audiac City.
4 - Load the leader, and move the galleon 1 NE.
5 - Move another 4 movement point galleon 2 SW.
6 - Wake up the leader, and load him onto the 2/4 movement point galleon.
7 - Move the galleon back into Raven's Flight.
8 - Move the leader to whatever city has the wonder we wish to rush.

EDIT: Ignore the above instructions - Audiac is on a hill!!! :wallbash:

But, we can still load the leader onto a galleon, and unload him from within the city on the same turn. Then again, there's always rushing a wonder in Audiac City!

I think we should go for a rushed wonder. With the Military Academy in place in Groton, we can build armies with ease, so there's no real need to use a GL to build an army.

Thing is, Boots, there will be no Wonders to rush right away. :)

As you've stated, the Military Academy will be done in Groton soon. This leaves only Wall Street, which will be built in Vandelay next turn(after sitting on a Palace build for 382 shields too long ;) ).

After that, we would have to sidetrack our research to discover either Free Artistry(Shakespeare's) or Espionage(Intelligence Agency), both of which I think offer inessential Wonders at this stage.

So, by default, I think the best thing to do would be to build an Army at Audiac city, so that we will be able to roll the leader dice again almost immediately.

@CT, maybe it's late, but how does Audiac being on a hill negate your instructions?

The only wonder due soon (I suppose) is Shakespeare's. I want to have it in Vandelay, because this city has a lot of flood plains and can grow large. (So does Deux Riviere, but DR has the Palace and thus need not be in constant happiness to avoide waste.) OTOH Vandelay produces enough shields to get Shakespeare's in 8 turns. IF we start the same time as the AIs, we can build it without a Great Leader.

Groton can build an Army every 4 turns. Instead it can build 4 tanks (soon). Thus I would go for army.

There's no point in keeping him sitting around waiting, it just stops us getting another, so unless there is a Wonder that we want that we can't build before the AI (which there doesn't appear to be at the moment - that ToE jump to get Hoovers really does boost production!), I say - ARMY!

A hill + harbor = 2 movement points. I was hoping to move it 3 tiles into the city, then 1 out so that another galleon could come in, and pick up the leader. But, if you move into a city with a hill, it uses up 2 movement points.

@Tao - Remember, this is vanilla Civ3, and Shakespeare's doesn't have the hospital effect. :)

I don't have to remember, since I never learned otherwise. :) There is no C3C for Macintosh. :( And will not go the Evil Empire way. :D

I want it to sustain wltkd with high population. :goodjob:
