"Show City Pop Dropshadow"

Does anyone know what this preference selection does?? I have checked it and unchecked it and it doesn't seem to make any difference.

The number showing city's population has a shadow. I think it's neither clear nor pretty.

I think when you select this option it shows the pop number as yellow if the city is not growing and red if the city is starving

i think....

No. It's always white, yellow or red. The only thing is that it's shadowed. It's very hard to notice, but it's there.

I never understood that thing. It makes it look ugly.
