Okay, I've been looking over the threads and the save since I got back and made several conclusions, tatics, and theories that I'll mention here.
Starting things off... the war with the d-holes. As were already attempting to do , make peace with them. The war right now is just slowing down our expansion and economy. However, keep our diplomatic relations with them aggressive. If were to win this game, we must eliminate them sooner or later, or atleast severly hamper there progress. However, we don't have the capability to do that at the moment, so peace is the best course of action right now. Although, we must starting trying to gain advantage over the Iroqi people. How do we do this?
Greekguy's Alliance of Science is the best method. If we coordinate our scientific efforts fully with MIA, we will surely jump ahead of the Iroqi's in science. Using the "mass-upgrade" effect, we can upgrade our soldiers from an outdated version to a brand new unit (Knights or Calvary most likely) that the Iroqi's will not have yet.
Although we should favor MIA as our closest allies, we must not ignore K.I.S.S. We can try playing K.I.S.S. and MIA against eachother alittle bit, more to hamper MIA's progress (if the Alliance of Science works out perfectly, then MIA might easily become our greatest foe, so we must always keep them to a slight disadvantage).
Now, moving out of the foreign affairs and into Domestic affairs. Instead of demanding tribute or the like from the Iroqi's, let's demand they agree to a "Line of Expansion." A line that will surely favor us (if you can't figure out where the line is on the map... please do us the favor of finding yourself a good eyedoctor):
Basically, tell them the following:
"No Iroqi settlers, exploration units, or military units may go cross this line. In accordance, no settler, explorer, or soldier of TNT will cross. From this moment forward, the Northern distric shall be known as terrority of TNT, while the Southern Distric falls under the rule of the Iroqi people. The breaching of this terrority will be cause of a declaration of war between our people."
Now I don't expect the Strider Doctrine (were calling it the Strider Doctrine... because I really want to attach my name to something for a very selfish and powerhungry reason. That and I like to see my name...
) to accomplish much, but I want it as a test of the d-holes honor. Let's see if they will actually stick to the agreements that agree to (which might be why the agreements are called agreements).
Now, we really need to build up our cities. So I propose once peace is made, we start using the following build "format:"
Spearman --> Settler --> Improvement --> Spearman --> Settler --> Improvement
If a city runs out of Improvements to build than it starts building military (offensive) units in it's place. If we manage to expand far enough, then we play an military unit in place of the settler. This war we can keep a strong defensive force, while building up our economy, and expanding our cities borders. We may have to make exceptions to this build format (other than the two listed above) on a case by case basis, but for the most part stick with the general idea.
------
So, what does everyone else think? Remember, the key to winning in these type of games is to do the unpredictable. Sometimes when playing human opponents, doing what is most profitable is not always the best course of action. Our Mistakes give our enemies hope, hope leaders to over-confidence... and over-confidence leads to weakness. A few timely "What the hell are they doing?" may aid us greatly
