Pretty Funny Civ V Misunderstanding

My friend is new to the game and we are both giving GOTM #68 a try.

He started off declaring war on pretty much everybody including his neighbors and the city states he met. I explained how warmongering works and tried to explain to him, "If you just wait a while they will eventually hate you less and eventually the warmonger diplomacy hit will go away."

I called him later that evening to ask him how things were going and he said, "I haven't done anything since turn 80, just waiting for the war-monger penalty to go away." He left his computer on and watched TV, did some housework and read.



And yes, he said it was okay if I posted this on the forums.

Maybe he's been conditioned by playing all those ghastly free-to-play money sinks which have a real time 'cooldown' period for things like this.
