Preview: Native Warrior/Brave

wow, looks really good. Im no expert on this subjekt, but should´nt he have some boots/shoes/sandals?

I say he's fine as is, especially if things like sandals/pants take a lot of time.

A rifle would be cool, though.

My goodness Utah, you are one busy Unit Maker! Looks great so far, and the tatoo is a nice touch. Now here is the big question for ya, when your finished with the axe/knife brave, will ya be making a defensive warrior with a spear in his hand? Might as well make a Bowman too, hehe.

I think the loin cloth should definitely be colored. Just take a look at the images I have provided in the other thread and you will see that the majority of them have colored loin cloths.

I was just reading a book at the library on Native American Indian clothing and the Iroquois wore leggings that were generally gartered just above or below the knee. The leggings often had embroidering to cover the side seam and were infrequently fringed.

Their chief weapons were surprise and fear, er... oops, excuse me ... their chief weapons were the tomahawk and the war club and they used shields of stretched leather.

The most common hairstyles amongst the warriors was either a completely shaven head with the exception of the scalp lock at the back or the mohawk.

As for war paint they either had a black rectangle (that's all the book said) or two stripes on the face. They also wore tatoos with intricate geometric shapes.

Well, that's some good information there. I've already started making the animations for the "warrior," but I could use the info should I make a swordsman unit. Thanks.

Well, my free trial period of JASC Animation Shop is officially over, and I can't find a link to an older version. So, there's no preview for all of you, sorry. I will give a little update though. I have completed the Default, Fortify, AttackA, and AttackB animations. I have the Run, Fidget, and Death animations rendered, but I don't have storyboards made yet. No, there will be no Victory animation, unless the fidget animation doubles as the Victory animation.

Well, I should be done with this unit in a couple of days. Keep your eyes peeled for the "Indian Warrior."

Well, he's finished. I've uploaded him to the completed units forum . . . just click the link in my signature.

The unit looks better than this rough-lookin' preview.
