Problem with options

I'm having some problems with a new installation that look to be due to the way options are handled. Maybe I'm missing something or have some left over artifact.

Anyway, the game starts OK with my usual set of options, several changed from the defaults but nothing unusual. However, "Unrestricted Leaders" does not permit a leader to have a different Civ. Also the options screen for my map program (Sto) does not appear and seems to have forgotten my old settings. Finally, the World Builder does not appear on the Options menu, as if the Resources Locked option were set (though it's not). To to all that off, when I try to settle my first city, I get a crash to desktop.

What should I do?

Sounds like you are using an unpatched installation with the worldbuilder being disabled issue. On first release things weren't working quite right and that had to be disabled since it was mistargetted.

If you are using an older release, that also explains the options being messed up. Was a carry-over of the same issue.

I repatched and most of the problems went away. Something must have gone wrong the first time. However Sto's map script is still not working.

I have a question about the Custom Game Options too.

Everytime I start a new Custom Game the previous game's Options were not saved (i.e. if I checked All Unique Wonders available last Custom Game, it will be unchecked again). Just wondering, if this is the default or I need to reinstall.

Fall Further does save gameoptions. But if you are using base (unpatched) 050 release then there were some issues with Gameoptions which caused erratic behavior.

There were some option issues with the mapscript as well, which Sto has addressed in the 3.07 version of Full of Resources (released yesterday). Everything is working for me now, so it's time to dive in. Poking around I saw a lot of exciting new stuff, especially all those new promotions. Thanks to both of you for helping sort it out.
