Problem with saved game

I was about halfway through a saved game on the regular old out of the box RTW with no patches. I logged on to the internet multiplayer to play with a friend and installed patch 3.19 as prompted. Now my RTW saved game doesn't work even though my other saved games do. Any possible solutions to this or is my saved game toasted? Thanks,

It's toast. The patches change the saved file; especially 3.19 as that even fixes some save file issues so the code must be impacting that.
