Problem with the Civ. III Editor

I just looked at that thread that talked about the scenario victory screen problem and now it's all fixed for mine. :)

But now after being some time here in the forums I've suddenly come up with some great scenario ideas that I'd like to make (Even though they more than likely will come out bad, but oh well).

The problem I have is that whenever I wish to edit something for the scenario I cannot seem to find the "OK" button to make all the changes valid. Instead, all I can get to is a bunch of blank "gray box" space.

I took a look at the "Scenario Help" function and saw that the boxes for editing things were actually pretty long, and that the "OK" button was really way down on the bottom.

So I came to figure the problem was that my screen just didn't fit the whole box in. Of course, I tried to see if I could make the box shorter, and even tried messing with the computer screen to see if it would let me get down enough to that OK box.

I installed Civ. III in Windows 2000, and I'm not sure if this problem is the same in Windows XP. Everything else is working just fine, I'll I need is to get down to that "OK" button.

So is there anything you think I could do to fix this (Suggestions, comments, anything is welcomed)? :crazyeye:

Thanks. ;)

there is no ok button. only close and help your changes are automaticly valid everytime you change somthig. it will be awhile before i can fit the whole thing on my screen t
o.

I didn't quite understand you...

So what you're trying to tell me is that there is no button that will accept your changes (Such as an "OK" Button)?

I have tried just clicking the "X" button, but it really does not seem to work like that. Are you sure you just have to click the "X" button?

Also, what do you mean by "It will be a while before [you] can fit thew hole thing on [the] screen?" Can it be done or no possible chance for it unless you get a bigger screen (I was thinking maybe it was Windows 2000, for maybe in XP it's different)?

I'm still confused, but thanks for the reply nevertheless...

Change your screen resolution to 1024x768 or higher

Right-click on desktop > Properties > Settings tab

Yes, when you make a change in the game rules, and you click the "X" in the corner to close that window, just save the game, and the rules you changed will be saved too. I don't know if this works for every civ mod editor game, but you can tell if you changed your game rules or not by looking at the very top bar that shows what window you are in. It will say for example

"Civ III Mod Editor"
or whatever it says, and when i change it, it will have a " * " or astris (spelling?) next to it, like
"Civ III Mod Editor*" and that tells me that if i don't want to lose what i changed, i better hit save.

I don't know if that helped, but i try

Well, the problem was that of the screen resolution, but telling me about the "X" also helped.

Thank you GVBN and Taras Bulba. Both of your replies helped a lot. :)

The problem is fixed.
