Problem

Hello, I am new to these forums, but I have a problem, I can't put any add-on mods in my game, and none of the shortcuts in the game folder work, and I also don't have a "my games/SMC4" folder in my documents. Does anyone know what I should do, where I should put these?

to put a mod in your game, you put the mod folder (ussually named after the mod itself like fall from heaven2..or greenmod) into your warlords/civ4 (whichever you are using) mod folder...then in game, when you want to play it, load civ4/warlords as normal, at the first screen hit "advanced" it will say load a mod, choose the mod you want to play, the game will auto reload (the game will close then reopen, if your machine is slow/low memory it takes a bit, and reopen with the mod loaded and play as ussual.

the mods dir. is /civ4/mods btw you'll see a couple of the Friaxis made ones there already

So I can't have a new tank pack and new bomb on at the same time if I have to sepratly load them, or do I just keep loading them then play the game, that is kind of tedious, but I will try.

Hey X,

yes you can do everything you want to do, you just have to combine the elements of the various mods you want into 1 mod.

for example, if you want a tank from mod 1
and a cannon from mod 2

you can create mod 3, with both the tank and gun in it....(you put the tank & gun in this one yourself)

how to do this, can be as simple as cutting and pasting entries in files...or as hard as getting free advice from a lawyer, it will just matter how complicated you want to go, what you want to do in other words.

Look at the tutorials, and BE SURE TO BACKUP EVERYTHING you might ever think about changing, and change only 1 thing at a time, test it in game to make sure it works, BEFORE going to make the 2nd change.
