Problems getting civ 4 to run on windows 7

Hello I just recently bought a new computer and figured I'd start playing civ4 again but I cant seem to get it to run on windows 7.

Its a good comp and should run it fine 2.6ghz quad core processor, 6gb ram, nividea geforce 220.


I get the game installed and then when I try to run it, it says this program has known compatability issues and it wont run.

Anyone with similar issues or a way that can help me to get it working I would greatly appreciate it.

Is this basic Civ 4 or one of the expansions (Warlords or Beyond the Sword) or one of the complete versions? Basic Civ 4 is not compatable unless it has the most recent patch so you will need to patch the game. If you have installed the game off CD you can download the patch from this site, but if you have downloaded the game you will need to get the patch from whoever you downloaded it from.

ya it was basic havent gotten to my warlords yet and i've never played BTS. BUt thanks i patched it in and its working fine now.
