So just post here?

I have a similar grievance that there's too many stickies on the GC2 site forums and its difficult to see new posts.

Why not give it a whirl on this forum ?

@ sahkuhnder: if you're not being helpful why reply? this is the gal civ2 sub-forum after all. i'm looking for a reason/solution to my problem, so i ask where i think help might be available. you were flat rude  . why question my posting here? stand up and be sensible with your answer. i have read about others having issues with their forums, and a reply at apolyton suggests this is a true problem that needs attention.

where else would someone of your obvious wisdom direct someone with a question like mine? i just want to communicate with others who have an interest in this game. prove you are more than a phrase. enhance discourse rather than degrade it. what a bore!

Umm, to try to find out exactly what the point of your thread was? You didn't actually ask any questions or post anything to do with the game.

Why would you comment about posting on galciv2.com here at CFC? Wouldn't the proper place to ask about their postings be with them? Were you just making a statement? If you're not happy there and were just venting frustration, then my suggestion would still be exactly what I already said in my earlier reply - "So just post here".

@sahkuhnder: my comment was intended to get a response that might be helpful. this is the Galactic Civilizations II forum. why would posting a question concern this game (or related material) not be appropriate here. a similar comment at apolyton was replied to with info as to why i might be having this problem (too much volume, which is good). another search around (can't remember where) i read a reply to someone having the same problem and it was suggested that there might be a conflict with some of the cookies. here is your chance to be helpful, tell me how to reach someone over at galciv2 when my posts never get posted for anyone to see? if they did i wouldn't be here invading your precious forum. besides, i'm sure someone involved with the game checks these forums, and they might have something to say that is insightful. reply if you must. if it's not helpful i'm done reading. i'm sure it will all be corrected and improved eventually.

I am fairly knowledgeable about the game I beta tested it. So I should say I am quite familar with it. I can try to help if you tell me what it is? Is it gameplay? A bug/crash? I'm no mind reader.

Bold by me.

@ Rustwork -

That was exactly what I sent you a PM about. I'm no mind reader either. I didn't see any question in your original post. To me it still looks a lot like a frustrated rant. Notice the question mark at the end of my response, as in "I'm confused here, what exactly are you asking?"

I am not and never have meant to be rude, but if you post an actual question then it will be easier for people to give you an actual answer. :)

Please feel free to answer my PM if you like so we don't tie up this thread any longer.

it actually has to do with the forums. i wanted to post to the ideas forum. i started a new thread. typed some ideas and posted it. when i went to the ideas forum my post was not there. so i tried to post in the main forum body that i had problems seeing my first post. this too never made itself public. if i go to "my posts" i see them there and each says it has been posted to the intended forum, but when i check i can't find them. one reply mentioned that the forums are receiving far more volume than was expected, and this might be causing some problems. i'll probably just wait until they update or a fan site goes up with a more complete formate to their forums. having been looking and posting here for a while now i took it for granted how easy these forums are to use.

It happend to me too on my first post... quite confusing to not see it at all... I simply waited a while (can't remember how long, but less than a day) and it eventually showed up where it was supposed to be.

I wouldn't be surprised if in GalCiv III or some future games that we end up pointing to CivFanatics (and Apolyton) as places to go.

The problem with our forum system is that it wasn't designed for the sheer volume of traffic. We're expanding it as fast as we can but it's still just overwhelming.

Me to, tried to post something about adding some function of the uninhabitable planets in a patch, like making all uninhabitable planets mineable, and put the resourses on the uninhabitable planets instead of having them drifting in interstellar space ;)
