Im running windows vista home premium 32 bits with the latest service packs and drivers in a intel core duo 2.6 ghz, 3 gb ram and a nvidia gforce 7100.
I have installed civilization iv v1.74 then warlords v2.13 and then beyond the sword v3.13.
The installation went fine; but when I tried to launch civ IV or warlords, I get a Microsoft message saying that there are "known compatibility issues" between Civ IV and Vista if i run the game anyway (civ iv or warlords) it stops loading . I can find nothing on the CivIV website about that. I tried the xp compatibility mode but it didnt work.
The only one that launchs is beyond the sword but after all the menus when im about to start the game it crashes to the desktop everytime with no message error, nothing.
Also the opening video freezes every few seconds and then continues playing.
During the installation of Civ IV i have been asked to install directx9 since Vista ships with DX10 i didnt do it. May be thats part of the problem? If i click ok dx10 will be replaced with dx9?
Is there any patch that solve this compatibility issue?
Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks for any advice you can offer. i dont know what to do I HATE windows vista.
