Problems with Windows 7

Hi,

I'm experiencing some problems with Civ 3 and Windows 7. I've got some crash to desktop during the game and, besides that, everytime I play a scenario like Mesopotania for example I get a Windows crash message at the Victory window. It just happens everytime I press the X button on the screenshot below:



Does anybody have the solution of this problem? Thanks a lot.

PS: I have Civ 3 Complete version and I've installed the game in compatability mode following 'Installing under Windows 7' pinned topic at this forum.

thats strange, win7 is very diferent in all the PCS, in some PCs some softwares work and in another with the same version it just crash. I install the game using ISOs of the CDs without compatibility options. then i play the game with compatibility options because when i erase something it just apears and works like it is there. I dont have any problems. If you want the links of the ISOS just send me an MP.

This happened to me too!!! Infact, this is why I've joined these forums. I've been playing this game for ages now, and not long after I upgraded to windows 7, I can't proceed any further in the game. I can't tell you how frustrated I am

It's really very weird this behavior of the game in different versions of Windows 7. Perhaps the game runs perfectly in Win 7 x86 whereas it doesn't in Win 7 x64 version. I have the x64 Win 7 version and I've discovered that the game runs faster here if I change the installation directory from C:\Program Files (x86)\Firaxis to C:\Firaxis but the crash problems still continues.

I think that the best option is to install Microsoft Virtual PC or VMware Workstation and install the game under Win XP Virtual Machine

i used to have some problems, but it fixes with the resolution error.
and the links disappear O.o
