Procylon's Call to Power Project

Thank you for your answers.
I have erased Random Events from the Mods folder and started a new game. As I met again the same problem I went to V9.
The game seems so much richer that I have to admit I am puzzled with the new Policy system and the new tech trees. I guess I will have to practice...
It seems I don't get happiness from exploited dye and silk tiles. I see I can get some (+1) from them with buildigs. Is that it all ?

For the moment, one of the main way to get happiness early game is to adopt Monarchy as your social policy. Monarchy gives +3 happiness for every garrisonned city. Other policies will give you less hapiness but are cumulative as long as you choose policy compatible with each other.

Then with Tech discovery some buildings giving happiness will be available to you. Especialy in the Economy tech tree and the building related to the luxury ressources you have.

@Decimatus
I have finally added colony support for the ATOM: CTP mod and will begin to make a colony creation mission for units. I am one step closer and only one step away from releasing the Alpha version of ATOM and at that time I will begin to upload the latest version directly to you for you to implement into an ATOM version of CTP. Since I'd imagine not everyone would want to play with a mod in alpha stages, I would advise in making two versions, one for regular CTP and one for ATOM testing. Or if you're not up to hosting two different files I could host the alpha mod with your permission of hosting CTP in addition to my ATOM. Reason for this is that I'm not too sure cross-mod material is completely sound yet and is probably riddled with bugs since it has yet to be done even though it was an acclaimed feature of Civ 5.

Hi I have tried this mod ver9(2) I like the modding done so far :)

However I have a problem with the tech's.

I can't see the tech trees, so i have to pick of the list.

not all techs gives what it states, MYSTICISM should give me the right to build temples but I can't.

I don't get alle the tech's in the games it and I ran out in the medieval period.

I have tried to delete the mod and reinstall it but the without solving the problem.

can you give me some hint on how to solve this please ;)

This is really the point on the whole multi-tech page idea. You can't have it all. A civ must choose wisely what it wants to invest in then trade with another Civ should they want another genre of techs.

Solution as follows:

This Mod is very complex and ideally it should be the only Mod activated while you test it out. Download the file from Mediafire and put in your Civ 5 Mods folder (In My Documents, My Games, Civ 5, Mods). Ideally remove all other Mods from the folder, just move them, no need to delete them, except for previous versions which you should delete. Then start Civ 5, go to Mods, Browse, click Install Mods, then enable the mod and start a game.

Hi there, I have a "crash wall issue" problem with this mod.

I've used the fix on the first page of this thread and I've loaded successfully the Old farmer's save, made a world trip with it and zoomed in many cities without crashes. However, in a game I'm playing on this mod, on an standard size map with 8 civs (BTW: The map doesn't have any kind of resources), the game crashes hastily when I move the camera around (Like when moving from a unit on a part of the map to another part of the map). I guess this problem could be mod related, but I can be wrong.

Anyone have this kind of issue?

Good to hear you are OK Decimatus.

Now of lesser importance: I decided to give this another go after the patch. First I played a non modded game (map = small, civs = 16, PC = well above recommended specs, dissapointment in having to play a small game = high) I got through this game without any issues.

I then played with the latest PCTP mod on the same settings. I had no issues until around turn 1400. It was around this point when I set up a "destroyer network" which lit up most of the world map so I could see almost every hex. The only issue was that the map scrolling became a little choppy. Finally, on turn 1472 I experienced my first crash. It occured in the city detail screen. When I click on city detail in the late game and the view scrolls slightly the game becomes choppy and from this point on would crash frequently. I didn't experience this in the non-modded game so I am wondering if all the additional buildings/specialists in this mod may be taxing the system.

A couple of additional notes on my last game - I purposely kept my worker count limited and my military small and used only minimal amounts of units when fighting a war. (almost like the AI when they fail to move nearby units to assist in a war) I also turned auto-unit cycling off. This might have helped with the stability as well.

On another note, one odd thing happened to me in my game. I had around 22 million gold when I ended a turn only to have my gold reset to 0. I guess I should have spent it but it was part of my small military strategy. I wanted to be able to buy what I needed if something came up.

Finally, I have a question for anyone who can play this mod on the larger maps (not necessarily huge) with a lot of civs and has minimal stability issues. What are the specs of your system? I am going to build a new system and it would be nice if I could play large games. I already have a GTX470 1.25GB video card and an i7-990X 3.46GHz 6-core processor that I got from work (not stolen) so I guess there are only a few more decisions left to make but I would be interested in details about set-ups that can handle this game/mod. Thank you.

Just noticed your post right before mine. I've been having a lot of these issues as well. One thing that helped me was turning the unit auto cycling off so I could try to minimize scrolling. I still have issues with stability but that seemed to help quite a bit.

Yeah, you should try the fixes on the first page. On my part I've already tried them, and they work... for the vanilla game, not for the mod, strangely enough.

Turning off unit cycling helps a bit, but you ultimately have to cycle between units to advance a turn, so it only delays the trouble.

I tried not to have too many active units so I could click on the mini map to move around and select them manually. When you click on the minimap the game doesn't scroll it simply changes to the location you clicked on. It was kind of a pain and it affects the way I play the game but I was pretty desperate to avoid those anoying crashes.

I actually posted a suggestion on the 2kgames forum to create a setting that does away with auto scrolling all together. The screen would simply center on the next unit as opposed to scrolling over. They said that they passed the idea to the developers. We shall see.

Hey guys, sorry for the absence.

Been pretty busy and otherwise tired. Working long hours, and probably more of that in the coming weeks.

I think sometime in the next few days I may get some kind of update uploaded with various feedback that everyone has given in the past few weeks. There is actually a good number of bugs that I had fixed prior to that damn earthquake, and there are some good graphical updates from Feuteupool that I will upload as well.

Anyway, I will be around sporadically for the next few weeks, but don't worry I am still around and I am still working on the mod. :)

I tried this on mac civ 5; kept crashing upon loading a new game =[.

I didn’t even realise that mods were supported on macs. After a quick look it seems that mods which add new graphics, like this one, won’t work. So for now it seems the only solution would be to boot into windows.

I could try that, however, suffering and having pain to play goes against the basics (having fun, and enjoying your time).

For me, it just doesn't worth it. I'll try with another smaller map to see if it can hinder this issues.
I just hope it could be fixed.

large and huge maps are really unstable with this mod, crashes may be linked to overheating try using a fan it works wonders for me. Play on a smaller maps, play with less city states helps. use dx 9 instead of 10 or 11.

seriously what the hell did you do with all the resources, just started a 2nd game to see if the first was a fluke, and this time i had 1 resource within a 3hex radius. you have really taken a lot of the flavor out of the game. i do not even care to try and see if your changes are interesting
