Profiles & settings reset

Occasionally whenever I boot my game up; all of the custom settings (resolutions, music pathways, graphics, quick combat, etc) that I did for both the default and new profiles will reset to the default settings. Its starting to tick me off whenever I need to make sure everything is what I want it to be. For some reason my newer profiles also don't seem to load anymore; its something about profile versions being incompatible.

Any tips?

I have the same problem.
Usually its all good, then randomly, like once a week or two all settings reset. But im able to load old profile. I even installed the steam version, but it didnt fix it. The reset appears mid-game sometimes. When direct-ip or internet games username is empty (game has forgotten it). So far ive not determined the cause.
Im using windows 7. My games is not write protected.
