Pronounciation of Usernames & Internet words

De Lorimier

The (not thee) - Low - Ree - Mee - A

But I would be happy if people just learned to write my name right.
Seriously, I've seen my name butchered on countless occasions on CFC!
Pretty simple if you ask me...

Yeah, people seem to have trouble with the "ei" in Keirador. They always seem to want to right Kierador, or Kierdor. Seems like they figure if all the consonants are right, it's fine.

People say that a lot. It's supposed to be pronounced Gog and then "f" (no "uh" sound after the f). It's very hard at first, but you get used to it quickly when it's your username :p.

I pronounce it goughg-f, not gog-f. Dunno why...I think I may have tried to pronouce 'gf' and that's how I got the long o sound.

ummmm........ is a brain cramp, not a mantra. And it would bother me if people pronounced it the other way.

But generally, I don't think there's anything wrong with an unpronouncable user name, and I typically identify people by their avatars. I don't actually read the user names that often.

And I pronounce Gogf name like Golf, with a g instead of an l. But I've asked him(?) about it before.

Suprising considering you dont have one....

and I say your username many times a day :)

Huh? Is someone talking?

;)

I'm more of a visual person. I tend to remember pictures better than words...so that's why I assosciate avatars to people.

Well, the other reason I don't have one is because most of my posts are pretty short and I feel like an avatar would create a lot of blank space in the body of my replies. But I guess that's another thread . . .

My username is dumb, because it is both uncreative and too personal.

It's one advantage is that you have to be dumb as a brick to not pronounce it or spell it right.

Gogf: "gogf" (how else?)
SesnOfWthr: "season of wither" (consciously changed from "season of war")
cgannon64: "say gann-on sex-tee füür-ah" (this would make sense if you knew Swedish)
Keirador: "kay-rah-dore"
Mise: "mice"
Meleager: "meh-leh-ah-gerr"

Up north with the seals an polar bears.
Oh damn. I was just in Scotland this March, I could've looked you up. :mischief:

Mask-er-rooj.
And not Masquerogue.
Calling me Red Mask is also fine, it shows you're literate

But as of today, only one person has found the name behind the mask (not my real name, the name of the fictional hero whose nickname is Masquerouge. And actually there are more than one. And if you're not French, it's hard.)

I don't care the way you pronounce my name. Marla Sing-er... Marla Sinj-ehr... whatever... it doesn't matter.

This being said, don't miss-spell my name ! ;)
