Black Metal - Iron Works on the Zulu Border

I hereby propose a city on the following location in order to enable us to build the Ironworks. I dislike leaving wonders out, especially the minor ones.
I hope people are interested in the same. I always have been a strong propopnent for the iron industry from day one, so at least I am consistent.

I'm guessing settle one south of the iron hills then right? I think we should rather abandon Hill Valley and move the entire city up a tile or two, perhaps we could also raze Mpondo

Blackheart, not need to raze Mpondo But Hill Valley can easily be moved to the end of the hills and the springs of Provolution River. I think Japanatica deserves good Iron Works, and the place south of that iron is the best. The Zulus encroached on our highlands of national interest (remember my early national interest plans), and will now see a peaceful border adjustment to this. There has been broad consensus that these hills always belonged to Japanatica, and this is a peaceful way to reclaim them.

They've got a few thousand year lead on us if we build a new city there.

Definitely, I disagree . We don't even know the culture of Mpondo. Even if it has only a temple, that's still a few thousands years more culture than a new city would have. Anyways, even if we rushed many culture buildings, it will still take a while before we can gain that tile.

The iron tile would only be one tile away, if we settle next to it. So it will be in our borders, as Mpondo is two tiles away.

1 South of the Iron works for me, but leave Hill Valley there. It's 2 turns from a Cathedral. We need it's Culture in that area.

Which is why I proposed we raze Mpondo or do something along the lines of reducing its culture. Sure we would eventually get the coal, but it's going to take a long time for culture to accumulate.

Let me clarify myself. I agree to settling and getting that iron. I point out that unless we take some drastic measures to reduce Mpondo's culture, it will be a while before we get that iron, unless we were to settle one NW of the mountain, we would have to fight a culture war to get the iron.
