Python help for a python noobie

Are there any guides out there for someone who has little understanding of this? just a simply step by step guide on how to do things for civ 4 BTS

Not really a step by step guide, the TGA's python guide will help you...
I think the good method is to try and test, and if you can't find the way to do what you want, you explain what you tried and what happens and ask for help in this forum.
