Qin Shi Huang, who are you?

I heared that the artwork of "Qin Shi Huang" is exchanged with Monglian "Genghis Khan". (or Kublai Khan, I cannot recall exactly).
Not by mistake but by Firaxis decision.
They thought that artwork originally drawn for "Qin Shi Huang" has more warlord-like look. So it was chosen as artwork of "Genghis Khan" and "Qin Shi Huang" got artwork originally drawn for "Genghis Khan"
The picture and hat of current Qin Shi Huang" are originally drawn for emperor of Monglian-China (Yuan dynasty) not ancient Qin Dynasty.
This will explain the oddity of artwork of "Qin Shi Huang".

You're right. It seems possible. Kublai Khan from Wiki

vs "Qin Shi Huang from Civ IV

.

Qin Shi Huang from Wiki

vs "Kublai Hkan from Civ IV

(if acient Han people take off their crown, their hair style will look like this)

And the artwork of Kublai Khan in Civ IV seems Hanese style, i.e. it may possible for Qin Shi Huang.

that is a typical mongolian headwear and that should have been Kublai (not Genghis) Khan. But for some odd reason they switched the two.

But I think it's more of a Qing dynasty officerheadgear

Initially I think it is a Qing headgear too. But now I agree that it may be a Mongol headgear:

yes and look at the top of the hat, that "sphere" is the top of the typical mongolian headwear.

There are many traits that would describe me. Fx. Industrious because of the Chinese wall and the achievements I've made, Organized because gettingfat says so, Aggressive because I had a great army, Protective because I built the Chinese wall to defend my country and that would make my Cho ko nu's invincible, Philosophical because my ruling was based on philosophy, Creative because my palace was the largest and most beautiful in the world, and because Catherine the Great can be.

I should not be finincial by the way

The monitor I'm using now is kind of old, and the picture is kind of dark, but are you sure it's not just a mullet?

well illustrated, kelvin! kublai's beard that qin has in civ is a dead giveaway, among the other similarities.

I think Firaxis should switch the two leaderheads in the expansion pack, for the sake of accuracy...

Why did the switch it in the first place? What was the need to display that innaccuracy?

Ha, when have my opinions become so important? :king:

Anyway I strongly doubt if creative trait fits Qin at all. Qin is pretty "anti-culture", unless you consider burning books and burying scholars alive to be some "creative" acts.

Imperalistic also fits Qin really well since he is the person who founded one of the greatest empire ever in the world history. In a sense, it is even better than aggressive.

If they pick the emperors from Tang Dynasty, such as Li Shimin (i.e. Tang Taizong), creative will be a very fitting trait.

Didn't he also unify currency in china ?
Then Financial would make some sense at least...

I also remember hearing that ... don't know how much of it is apocryphal, but his wikipedia article seems to support at least some of it. I thought he was responisble for the Grand Canal, but apparently that was later.

The emperor also developed an extensive network of roads and canals connecting the provinces to accelerate trade between them and to accelerate military marches to revolting provinces.

Qin Shi Huang and Li Si unified China economically by standardizing weights and measures, the currency, the length of the axles of carts (so every cart could run smoothly in the ruts of the new roads), the legal system, and so on.
