In hotseat you have the option of selecting a difficult per player.

We usally go with immortal because alot of city states get alot more units so more dangerous with wars (deity a little bit to many)
(We play against eachothr)

Now my friend is new to civilization and he wants to join a game of hotseat but is new to the mechanic so he goes with the difficulty of warlord and we are going to play against some AI's

So my question is how does those different difficulties influence the game?

Some questions:
If player one me play immortal do all city states have more units?
If some players play immortal and one warlord on wich LV play's the AI?
Or does The AI play on prince and does it only affect the player and city states ?

basicly whats the effect

I believe the difficulty settings for each player only affect their happiness stuff as well as the maintenance costs. Like the AI always plays on Chieftain happiness level, meaning they can have way more and larger cities than a player that plays at a higher difficulty plus less maintenance costs for roads/improvements, buildings as well as army.
Pretty sure all CS and all AIs are playing on the game difficulty level set and the player difficulty/handicap only affects their personal (un)happyness and maintenance costs.

But wich difficulty does the AI play

I mean if I am player 1 and I play on immortal
and my other friend plays on prince.

Which difficulty does the AI play on?

Wich LV does play the AI?

Okay, just ran a little test on this. I created two different hotseat games, one where player 1 is on deity and player 2 on prince and one where player 1 is on prince and player two on deity. I saved them and when you select them to be load the difficulty is shown. In both cases the difficulty shown was that of player1, even when player2 was the one who saved the game.

Moreover in another test it was shown, that a Chieftain player started with more happiness then a Deity player.

So... not really sure - I guess since the barbarians actually pillaged also the prince and chieftain player that the AI either is on player1's or always on the highest setting. Less unhappiness and less maintenance cost might therefore be the only advantage for the lower difficulty player.

Now... this all doesn't matter at all (imho), as a hotseat game
LACKS the quick combat option. Therefore it is unplayable:
