Question about terrain graphics

Always by index with CivIII. Same for civ colour.

The advantage is you could have a blue for the civ colour, AND the same blue for non civ colour, providing they are not using the same index.

Thanks.

I have little dilema. Whal shall I use ? Planets that look photo like (with shaded parts) like these:

or more game like (and all visible)

What do you all think ?

elenar... Transparent colors are Due to Index, Not the Color.

The Reason Pure Magenta and Green are generally used is because those colors are Not generally found in the Images on the Files.

...So it is important to use Two Colors that are Not used in the Images on the File. We could use a Color that is also in the images but then we would need to make sure that the same Transparent color is indexed as the Transparent color while the Other same color in the palette is Not Transparent... Just easier to use Magenta and Green :)
The Transparent Colors are at the End of the Palette in programs such as Paint Shop Pro but the palettes are reversed in other programs such as Gimp.

Thanks.
What index is civ colour ? Is it active in terrain graphics ?

In Terrain Graphics Files, you can have 254 Colors because there are No Civ Colors, Smoke or Shadow Shades as are in the Unit Palettes.
The Last two Colors after the 254 Colors are Transparent such as the Magenta and Green.
You can open and look at an Original Terrain File to see the palette.
