Question on BUG 4.0 and multiplayer

I just installed it. Chose the third install type (multiplayer)

Will I be able to run bugmod and play if my friends and I start a game and they do NOT have it?

Please advice, i want to make sure there will not be any complications. thanks

Everyone playing in a multiplayer game must use the same mod.

Yes, that is correct. Civ4 requires that each player is running the same version of the game in all respects. I think the one thing you can use in MP without other players using it is BlueMarble, but I'm not even sure about that.
