Questions about The BUG Mod

Hi

I got a new computer and when I reloaded my civ 4 stuff on it I went with bat 4.1. I had been using like 3.5 for the longest time. I haven't played with it much but I like some of the changes. The new mountains look spiffy :)

Anyways I was wondering how do options get saved? Like do the control alt o command and change things like turning build military units forever off and disable the advanced naming thing among a few other tweaks and they work fine in that session afterword but everytime I start a new session from a quck save theyre back to default settings and I have to change em all over again :/

Kaytie,

Try running the game as administrator. BUG has to write to protected folders and running the game as admin will help that happen. :)

Hi

Thx Lemon I think that got it. I also don't seme to be getting all these "failed to write ini" messages that happen everytime I start up a new game which I am guess running as admin also fixed. So hopefully thats it and now I can get back to killing off civs who build stuff on my land before I can get there :D

You go, girl. Give 'em hell. :D

Bloodlust is so hawt. ;)

So If want to revert to the default civ flags for some(or all) of the civs, how would I do that? ALT CTRL O brings up BUG mod options, but that doesn't give me that option.

Delete the folder KK Flag in the BAT Mod 4.1\Assets\Modules folder, and then delete KKFC.FPK in the BAT Mod 4.1\Assets folder.

That should put all of the flags back to normal. You would have to edit the XML in the KK Flag folder to disable only certain ones. :)

What if I just move them? I'd rather them not deleted in case anything goes wrong.

Also, there are 2 additional things I''d like to disable.
1st is the civics popup
2nd is the intro movie(no offense, I love this mod, but I also liked the old intro.) and wonder/era art.
3rd is Augustus's new leaderhead.
Thanks!

Moving them is fine, as long as they're out of the assets folder.

1. I don't know what Civics popup you mean, sorry.
2. I'll have to get back to you on the movie. It's complicated. I might just post a little patch.
3. The leaderhead can be disabled in XML. I'll have to get back to you on that one, too.

If I don't post in a couple of days, remind me in PM, k? I'm forgetful when I'm busy. :)

Sorry, popup probably wasn't the right word to use. It's more like a sidebar that shows what civics you're currently in.

I think you're talking about Better BAT AI and the civics list on the left hand side of the screen. You can't make that go away until I release BBATAI 2.1. Sorry.

Speaking of BAT ... I enjoyed seeing the modern female great merchant - that was a very nice graphic, especially when you moved her around.

Also - the era pop up for Modern and Future were both blank for me ... no picture at all.

I noticed that, too. I don't know why, the art is in the folder...

On a related note, how do I change the era art back to default? It looks fine in the older eras, but for modern and industrial it's kind of jarring and I personally thought that the timepieces were a nice touch.

Hopefully you don't mind me asking so many questions about the parts of your mod I'm not accustomed to!:)

Go into the mod's Assets\art\Movies\Era folder and delete the files there. That will restore the originals.
