If i were to build the Pyramids, is there any point in me still having any granaries? or should i just sell them off?

This question applies also to SETI, Michelangelo and the sort.

No, sell 'em. You still get Granary coverage from the Wonder, and you don't have to pay the maintenance.

The same for them, too. And for Women's Suffrage (Police Stations) as well.

Glad to be of service :)

Another wonder question.

How does JS Bach work? Does it apply to everyone? Or just me?

And what is considered a continent?

Assuming a RL Earth map.... how could i tell?

It only applies to your cities, on the same continent. Civ2 assigns a number to each continent and to each body of water. It's easy to tell which continent any square is on. Use your mouse to click (right or left) on the square. You will get back information about the square, including numbers like "(42,28) 7". The last number, the 7, is the continent number.

On an earth map, North and South America might have the same continent number, or they might not. It depends on how the map was made.

However, in the Civilopedia, they made a mistake when they wrote up the JS Bach article. The bonus actually applies to all of your Cathedrals, not just the ones on the same continent. (This includes cities that don't actually have Cathedrals but are covered by Mike's, BTW.)

Eh? What are you talking about?

I thought JS Bach worked just like the Hanging Gardens....everybodys happy. Now it has a side effect?

Specialist290 was correcting us (thanks!) and the Civilopaedia. It says JSB decreases unhappy citizens by 2 per city on the same continent. It should just say 2 per city (the continent doesn't matter). I am not sure that JSB is related to cathedrals, though.

Yes, JSB is very similar to HG, except HG only affects 1 citizen per city. Also HG expires eventually and JSB doesn't. And HG adds a happy, rather than removing an unhappy. I am not sure there is much practical difference there, but maybe someone will tell us.

On higher levels like Deity, with high populations, it is not true that everybody's always happy, even with these wonders. But they do make a huge difference. Personally, I like Mike's (Michaelangelo's Cathedral) with a really big civ.

One nice thing about JSB is that the happy citizen is added AFTER unit unhappiness effects, not before. I think the order is Luxuries, Improvements, Units, then HG/JSB. Mikes counts as Improvements (sub for Cathedral).
