Some Trade Reputation Questions:

EDIT: Never mind, have found a really hadny strategy article that answers my questions. Sorry!

How many turns do I need to wait per foreigner before they become native citizens?
And how can I speed things up?
- by having more native citizens?
- by having more military units stationed in the city?
- something else?

Appreciate anything you can give me.

I've read in several posts that there is a program called "SeedBeast", but I can't locate it in the Utilities forum, and that forum has no section for quick questions.

All I want to do is take a map where my civ is the Ottomans and change it to the Chinese, with no changes in world type or opponents, etc. I tried playing a few turns as the Ottomans, then tried to start a new game under the "Play Last World" option as the Chinese, but it doesn't work. In fact I tried 3 different Ottoman maps that way, but get the very same world using "Play last World"...it can't be the same last world for 3 different maps. :hmm:

I looked in the .ini file for the seed number, and I found a seed number, but it doesn't change even after playing 3 different maps, and the seed number shown is for that very same map I keep getting using "Play Last World". What am I missing here? :crazyeye:

I don't expect a complete answer here, but could someone please point me to the correct place to ask the question? Also, does anyone have a link to the SeedBeast utility? Thank you. :)

Thank you very, very much, Tim! I was about to :crazyeye: over this. :D

Edited to add: After reading the thread, I discovered that the world seed can be obtained from Civ Assist II in the World Map, Properties, and it worked perfectly. Since I've only had Civ Assist II for about a week, I'm still learning how to use it...a VERY powerful tool. Thanks Tim and thank you Ainwood!!! :worship:

In my games, the AI totallly ignore temples and the Religious tree, which is poly, mystic, and monarhy, the sumerians(as AI) always are the ones who researh those.

How do I load units onto ships?

I cannot find documentation for this in the manual. It says to press 'L' but this doesn't do anything. How does the ship know which units to load? How do the units get to the ship? I am so frustrated with the crappy manual that came with this game!

Ship in city, unit in same city, press 'L' when the unit is active.

-or-

Ship in coast tile, adjacent to land tile, step unit from land to ship.

Thank you so much for your reply. How did you find this out? I couldn't find it in the manual or the Civilopedia. Do any others of you find the manual as useless as I do? Try looking up "Trade Networks" sometime to see what I mean.

Thanks again!

The manual does indeed serve several purposes, least of which is how to play the game. We're your best source of information, IMNSHO.

The manual is better for setting up the game then playing it. They can't really put out a whole strategy guide without it being really really long. Think about trying to put all the threads in the Strategy & Tips forum into a book. ;)

Turner is right. The forum can sometimes be quicker, too.

Can ships spawn MGL's?

Also, if If I cancel a RoP, do I get a RoP Hit? I dont have any units in their territory.
