Quick Answers / 'Newbie' Questions

Playing through 1st full game of civ3 PTW - (I'm very much a "newbie" though I've got plenty civ2 experience) and I've got a couple of questions -

1. How can you cancel permanent trade deals? (deals which don't have a turn no. in brackets) I really don't want to pay the Americans 70gpt for the rest of the game.

2. (very stupid question this, but I haven't figured it out) I know how to call up the histograph but how do I call up the statistics - # in population, manufactured gds etc?

Ok, I've done some searching in the text files, apparantly its F11 - funny, I thought I'd gone through all the F# buttons. Anyway, I did say it was a stupid question.

The first question above was the one that was really bugging me anyway.

Welcome to CFC, JulianL [party]

1. You can either check "allways renegotiate deals" in the Preferences (Ctrl+P) or open negotiations with your trade partner and click on *active* to renegotiate it.

2. should be F11

In PTW(I think) and Conquests(for sure) there is a "Game Limit's" button where you can increase the number of years from 540 to 1000. This would tack on another 460 years to the end date.

But honestly, it's not needed. Play Accelerated Production, and above Regent, and you'll be finishing your last tech around 1200ad, what with trading and all. The AI isn't so crippled research wise above Warlord, and trading becomes more viable.

I know how to plant embasies, how do I plant spys. I know how to use em, how do I plant em?
I think clicking the intelligence agency icon or Ctrl-Shift-E work.
I only have vanillia, is it possible to edit the rules with the editor?
Yes, although there's some features in the expansions you can't use.

Well I know I can change the maps and create senarios and stuff but is there a way to use the stuff thats blocked off under the Rules heading?

Where and under what name do I have to save the scernario where I added new units?
under scenarios? ..but that will be only 1 scernario with new units... I want them to be in all the new games I start!
help plz!

And - where can I find the units_32.pcx file? the one with custom-created units in this forum? I searched, but I couldn't find :(

Make sure you didn't check "Custum Map." Then you can generate your own map each time you play it.

If you want to replace certain units, you just find the Arts folder (C:/Program files/Infogrames interactive/Civilization III/Conquests (if you have it, if not then go straight to Art)) and replace the unit arts with yours.
If i don't check custom map I can't add new units :\

I just want to know where do I have to save it??? and is there a certain name I have to use when saving???

and again where in this forum is the "units_32.pcx" file, cretaed by zulu178976(or sth)

oh god...
I know where I have to save the unit!
I mean after I have added the units in ci3editor! what then??? where do I have to save the "scenario" ??!?!

Just start playing the scenario you created everytime you start a new game... simple.

Zulus units_32.pcx file has a thread somewhere in the creation and customization forums. Sorry i can't be more specific.

You only need to check 'custom rules' to add new units, not 'custom map'.
