Can you build a wonder thats already expired?

Like can you build a temple of zeus if you already have eduction? Why would one do that anyways? Free culture, if early enough also tourist attraction money.

Do rivers still double defence if the nation border the river is in has engineering? Do rivers count against you when attacking over in your own borders if you have engineering?

Zeus requires Ivory and expires with Metal I think. Too lazy to look it right now.

The Great Lib expires with ED.

Anyway I don't know if being expires matters, I would think not. As long as it was not build once, I would think you could build it.

Rivers add their bonus to defenders Vs those attack across them. Regardless of whose river it may be. It is not double. It is 25%.

Why I can't build a railroad here?
You can see the coal, but the worker doesn't have the button "Build Railroad".

Oh, and I do have iron, but it can't be shown in the same screenshot.

BTW, I've made in this game my earliest conquest victory (910 AD, but I could have done it even faster) and I launched my first ICBM. Does anyone know which is the earliest Conquest Victory on this forum?

That coal has no road. I presume the rails that are there already were built by the previous owners. So this implies that coal is not connected to this town.

It has no harbor or airport and no road connection back to a town that does. Open the city view and see if coal shows up there. If it does I would suspect a corrupted save.

Hmm, but there is coal just to the north of that one that is in cultural boundaries, and is roaded. I suspect it's a lack of iron that's the real problem.

Yes, it's not a problem.

vmxa, look at the city Zimbabwe. Go 1 tile to the north-west. Then 1 tile west. You see the wheat? OK. Now go another tile west (!!west, not west and south!!). Can you see the coal?

And I found out what was happening. A French Modern Armor pillaged the road to the iron exactly that turn. Sorry for asking without checking more closely.

Do rivers still provide 25% defence if the nation border the river is in has engineering? Do rivers count against you when attacking over in your own borders if you have engineering?

I ask because engineering gives you bridges. So presumably you wouldn't get a defensive bonus if the enemy can just walk across some bridge instead of fording.
