I'm sure I read somewhere that the size of your Civ also has a significant bearing on the Anarchy time. The larger your Civ the greater the chance of drawing a longer period.

Yes, that is correct.

The smaller your empire, the shorter the turns of Anarchy. Say you are playing on a Huge map, and you have an entire continent to yourself, all colonized by you, and you decide to change governments, it'll take a while

but you all didnt have to gang up on me though

I apologize for making you feel ganged up upon. I know, I can sometimes be a bit to "direct" and I sometimes hammer to much on things. And then others are quick to follow, maybe I should have been more reserved. (but then, I wouldn't be myself)
I hope we didn't scare you away. ;)

Also why u making it your sig?????
i know i am such high status but you didnt have make a sig...

I thought it was funny, just like "I'm not addicted, I can stop anytime I want to, I just don't want to." It had a similar ring to it. And I though you where maybe, joking a bit.
But I'll remove it again if it makes you feel uncomfortable.

also as you can see the spear smiley is gone
soon so shall the avator but not atm

The myth my not be true, but its still a great myth. The spearman is a worthy mascot because of it, and a known symbol for invincibility to anyone who frequent the CivFanatics website and forum.

In the civ3edit, is there a way I can give the russians the knight-cossack upgrade? How can I add new units?

To make the knight upgrade to the Cossack:

Go to the Cavalry unit page. Set it so that cavalry upgrade to Cossacks (This assumes that in your mod, cavalry don't upgrade to anything else. If you do want your cav to upgrade, then set it so that knights upgrade to Cossacks, and Cossacks upgrade to Cavalry).

I can't help with units though. Sorry.

Since we're on the topic of the editor, I have a question about the governments section.

In the governments section, you can change the corruption/waste levels. One of these levels is labeled "OFF." What exactly does this do to the corruption and waste level? I think I messed around in the editor, making my own mod with a few new governments, and I used this option, but I don't remember seeing anything different.

Also, what exactly do the "Xenophobic" and "Forced Resettlement" options for the governments do?

one reduces culture in a city until most non-natives are gone.
The other reduces population in cities, one time, upon switching to that government.

lol no hard feelings MAS
its k....its kind of fun just chatting and debating over stuff that no1 really cares about....
its just human stupidity.... like who cares if u left the door open and let someone rob the house!

In addition to MAS's post - the OFF button for corruption is broken. Don't use it.

ok can someone help me out sometimes when i try to download a mpa it says incompatible with the version i have and i have civ3c

i was wondering can someone give a step tp step guide of how to make an animation (gif) and also how to make it civ anim (flc).

i would really appreciate it if someone did because i was really thinking about making units that would work superb with a mod i'm making. :)

Units are a VERY time consuming thing to do, and it'll take a lot first time.
Why don't you look in the Creation & Customization? It's exactly the place for such questions. And here's a great tutorial by Utahjazz about making units. It has 75 pages though. ;) And it requires some programs that aren't free.

Hi folks, does anyone have information on how I can create a scenario with 30 opposing civs? I was able to do it earlier, but I had to reinstall Civ II recently and I apparently no longer have something mod installed, I think. Thanks in advance.

OOps, I meant Civ III. Thanks Mirc. Does anyone have info on how I can create / play a scenario with all 30 opposing civilizations? Thanks (again)

Is there a way to rush this? I've taken over a very fertile land, but it's so far from my capital that corruption is out of control. Currently it is going to take ~200 turns. Any way to speed this up?

Thanks.

You only need to have C3C and you can use the scenario properties page to have the map contain all 31 civs.
