Does the AI cheat in combat rolls at Regent and lower difficulty levels? I've had elite swordsmen lose to warriors on flat ground, submarines lose to wooden frigates, destroyers lose to ironclads... sometimes I've lost 2 units trying to take that last hp off a spearman. And yes I'm well aware of terrain advantages of hills/mountains/rivers, and none of those were involved
I noticed I seemed to need overwhelming force in one game. It turned out that because I hadn't gotten my civ into war mode I was suffering in battles. I wanted to get some improvements built before I switched but when I did the battles started reflecting my expectations.
When you're playing in a Conquest game does the rally point feature go off? I couldn't set a rally point in either the Napoleon Era game or the Sacred Relic game. I had to uninstall this weekend and after my reinstall nothing seems to be operating as smoothly.

I've used the rally in several ocasions and it worked fine for me. If you build building in between units, then it "goes off".

Do Radar Towers give fighting benefits to naval or air battles?

Artillery units don't attack - no, they don't get a benefit, afaik, but no one has really ever tested it.

It's a 25% bonus to Attack/Defence IIRC. So no, it would have no effect on artillery units.
I'd like to play random maps, but start e.g. in industrial/modern era. I remember I had played these before Conquests were released. Is something like this available for C3C?

Can anyone direct me to a site that explains how the scores are calculated? They seem different to Victory Points
In C3C, the main menu should have an option called "Civ-Content". Click on that that, and you will see all scenarios - C3C is listed first, then PTW, then vanilla civ. In PTW's section, there are scenarios called "Industrial Start" or "Modern Start" that start you in those ages.crunch said:

quick Q... The bonus that the AI gets when you get to Emperor-Diety level difficulty... how does this compare to the religious/scientific traits? I mean they get the 20% less cost on production does this include improvements to? What I am really asking is would a religious/scientific civ still have the culture advantage in a high difficulty game when all the AI's have the production bonus? Or is this bonus just for units the AI produces?
