NO nothing, just wondering why in Monarchy I was making so much money and in Republi so much not.

You are probably paying a fortune in unit costs - remember that each unit is 2gpt in Rep above the limit. Also, a town only supports one unit, so you may need to get more cities to cover your costs as well. Is everything roaded that you are working? That can make a big difference too.

Yea, the entire island is roaded and I normally support 2 unit/city for MP, but then when I get to Republic, I can barely mantain any unit at all.

by MP do you mean Military Police? cause that isn't unit support, that is just having units in your cities

I know, is that when I switch to Republic, since Republic cant mantain my units defending my cities, I have to disband.

Right, you have to be prepared for the switch or it can be a rude awakening. You probably don't need a lot of those units anyhow. Make sure you disband them in cities to get the shields, obviously. Either that, or go conquer some more cities to up your unit support, which is always my favorite course of action.

Of course, I'd also wonder why you switched to Monarchy then to Republic in the same game, unless you are REL....

Another question, I am going to start a SS game with the Dutch and I was wondering , does my capital HAVE to be in the coast, I mean really, I could realy benefit from the extra seafaring commerce.

All seafaring civs start with thier first settler next to a coastal tile. If you don't want to found it there, you can always wander inland. Seafaring civs only get the extra commerce in a city if it is founded next to a coastal tile.

The Mesoamerican scenario where captured workers (slaves) can be sacrificed for culture ... does the AI do this or is it a human player only ability?

@Watorrey ... Are you 100% sure ?
... there is a vampire scenario under discussion and an idea is for vamps to go for cultural victory ... and virtually only method of obtaining culture would be to sacrifice captured workers

I'm 100% sure the AI will sacrifice units for culture.

Edit: I've seen the AI capture cities and have the borders expand on the same turn in TAM. Sacrificing was the only way that can happen.

I just had a dialog box "Maximum number of hyperlinks reached" pop up and crash my game while in the diplomacy screen. Only two other leaders (other than myself) were shown. Lost ~ 2hrs due to stupidity w/the autosave on my part. Any ideas what may have caused this? I'm pretty sure I've read about this around somewhere but can't remember where.

C3C 1.22, Monarchy

ps I had Civ Assist II running as well at the time but nothing else.

You may have seen the request for help I posted after getting that error message. It seems to be caused by the ad software that creeps into your computer and it stopped after I ran Spybot Search and Destroy . I think there are several products that will do this, but that's the one I used.

The error messages came back after a couple of months, but I ran Spybot again, and they haven't recurred yet. I hope this helps you. :)

Have a question.

Has any one been having problems with DYP in that lot of the text seems to not make sence like when you clik on a tile the wording is wrong. Also the game after I get to the date 500BC runs slower. Last night it was taking 15min for a turn.

Do you have these problem also?

The larger the map the more processing time is required ... and if you play huge, and all the civs ... well it can take ages ...
