How does the computer work out how much money is looted when you capture or lose a city. What i mean is ive had it happen when i lose say a size 2 city that i just took of the AI i got a few gold from it the ythen get it staright back or something and they end up getting at times a huge sum of money. Like say 2500 gold while you only have 20000 total. It leaves me thinking so more than 10% of all my wealth was in that city ? That dont make any sence at all. Its not always like that more often than not its more realistics but leans towards being high. I play on Sid if that makes any difference.

So basically is there an exact way it worked out or is it random ?

 Help please. I dont know how, but I pressed some buttons and now, mycomputer looks like if I wanted to take a screenshot of my empire.

The map looks smaller ,the minimap thing looks like if I was on Tiny setting.

I've got a ton of tundra tiles on which I want to plant forests, but I am not sure whether oil will appear on the forested tundra tiles later in the game. Should I forest the tiles, and then harvest them before learning Refining?

The oil and all resources you do not (yet) see have allready been placed. You do not know it, the AI seems to know tho....

So plant away, the oil is allready there if its there. If its not there its not there, nothing to do with your forest....

But will I see the oil after discovering Refining if the tundra tile is forested. The Civilopedia states "Oil deposits appear when your civilization discovers Refining and can be found in tundra and desert." Planting forests change the tile type to forest.

e a olson, the resources are on the map from the beggining of the game, they cannot move. I'm sure of this, because I know one cheat that allows you to see the whole map and a lot of modern and industrial age resources are there (coal, aluminium, uranium, and other).

In the replies or new threads I send, I see under my name written "Chieftain". I see a lot of people with other words written there. How can I modify this text?

After you have been registered for 30 days and have 30 posts, you can change this in your User CP.

I understand that the resources are there when the map is created. What I am questioning is whether the oil resource will show up if the tundra tile is forested before Refining. Does it appear, or does it not appear until after deforestation, capishe?

It will appear, no need for deforestation. One gotcha here though, if a resource expires it won't re-appear on a forested tundra, only on a deforested one.

Playing one is the easiest. Just put it in your C:/Program Files/Infogrames Interactive/Civilization III/Conquests/Scenarios/ folder. When you run Conquests, select Civ-Content from the main menu, and you'll see the scenario's name. Select it and play!

To make one, you need to use the editor the comes with the game. It is found in your C:/Program Files/Infogrames Interactive/Civilization III/Conquests/ folder, called "Civ3ConquestsEdit". Double click it to open it. Next to the button that looks like a grid (8 from the left), are the: terrain, resources, and overlay buttons. Those are the most important buttons. To edit rules do: Scenario -> Custom Rules, say yes to the warning, then Rules -> Edit Rules. For more help, post in the Creation and Customization forum!

With the ROP it at very least suggest that they have no reason to not trust you. As for the MAs and MPPs it just means there about to declar war and are trying to get an ally on the sly or prehaps are already at war. I have some nations ask for similar stuff even when they are furious with me.

People are constantly asking me for ROP's/MA's or MPP's. Does that mean I have a good rep? :)

yes.

don't confuse rep with attitude though
