Quick Fixes for 90AD Save

Let's try something that some other sites do in these PBEM games. The DP creates the turn thread, asking that the leaders post instructions until the turn arrives. Once it does, the DP plays and then reports in the same thread what has happened. Repeat for the next turn.
So it is basically what we do, except the intructions for the turn are told to the DP for every turn. Not a general feel for what is needed.

Only that we never know who will be the DP. For the turn to be played fast and sent on, whoever is available at the moment plays the save.

Or are we going to change that?

But how does it matter who the DP is?

I mean, a turn thread for the next could just be created after the save is played and posted.

How about each turn thread is a discussion, and then place for the officials to post their instructions for next turn? That would work fine.

Sounds good. But if the turn thread from the last turn becomes long, it will take time for the DP to read through it all when playing the next turn.

Yes, it should be organized so that the info is easy to find for the DP.

How about a turn orders thread and a turn discussion thread?

I suggest one thread for turn orders, that is updated whenever needed. And one thread for each turn, starting with the DPs report from the playing and discussion afterwards.

Using the turn thread for official instructions will complicate matters severely for the DP. To simplify matters, we would need to restrict postings in that thread to officials only, which would severely limit the quantity of potentially valuable feedback.

This is the main reason we created an official instruction thread for the entire term and stickied it back in Term 2. This allows everyone to provide feedback in each turn thread, while providing the officials a space to post instructions that may apply not only to the upcoming turn, but to several upcoming turns as well.

The only problem in that was the point that one of the oficials ever updated their posts...

Sadly this is also true. Possibly in the next term that we can get a new Term instruction thread and this time have the official update there orders as nessicary.

The whole point of a thread like that was that the leaders could post instructions far enough ahead to not have to update their posts between every turn.

Nonetheless, if a leader fails to update his/her instructions in the instruction thread, it stands to reason that it is equally unlikely that he/she will post anything in the turn thread.

Maybe we should anyway try it with the new officials we et now .
