Sorry for the newbie question, but I just looked over the scoring details and wanted to just confirm: there is no scoring related penalty for "despotic behavior" like betraying neighbors or razing cities* or enslaving, right? Sometimes on the forums I see people abhorring these but can't tell if that is just for the ingame effects.

Thanks in advance!

* besides exploits.

Backstabbing and enslavement are useful and efficient tactics. Wisely used they should make the score higher, i think! :cool:

Sure. But I would also give some extra points for successful diplomacy that, for instance, starts a war between two rivals and weakens their powers, gives you an advantage to destroy them etc. The only problem is that there's not really a way to show this in points.
I usualy avoid war as much as I can until my opponents are weaker because of wars, anarchy etc. And then I betray my friends and use alliances to protect myself.

The other problem is that we could only score points on what we can extract from teh save file. There might be some info on alliances, but its not certain how much we could determine.

Also - it would be exploited by some players. Some are absolute masters at making the AI dance on a string to their wanted diplomatic needs.
