This is a thread to expand the discussion

1) altering the campaign map (expanding it by 12-15 tiles, 8-13 for additional ocean and 2-5 for additional landmass of eastern North America)

2) revising convoy routes (spawning in the Caribbean, NYC, and Maritime Canada)

3) Adding triggers into the historical calender for 1941 declaration of war (American gets a single small city tile to base aircraft)

4) Adding operations projects for America (Invasion of North Africa, invasion of Italy, Invasion of Northern France


The units and newunit research projects already exist and conceivably could be merged without all that much editing. Obviously its a large undertaking otherwise, and the increased size of the map would lead to greater general instability, but as it is the map is excellent, but England falls way too easily to a skilled Germany.

Im not familiar with the politics or internal decision to deprecate the 1936 NA/Europe map, but it's shame because playing as the USA and having to invade Europe is a tremendous niche that should be served even in a European role. American intervention in Europe was the greatest defining factor of all military operations in western Europe and north Africa, and it'd be nice to have that reflected in the scenario.
 
Why not fix the 1936 map instead ?
 
yeah I personaly would love to play the 1936 map... witch is btw broken in favor of the US not that it can be fixed but a human player can overrun the rest of the world in no time...
 
a middle ground would be to just add america as a 'city state' and have UK be changed to "The allies."

UK would still build their own stuff, but material convoys and convoys delivering Infantry, Sherman Tanks, bombers and fighters to england would all spawn in america, and in 1941 they would be annexed by england.


The main reason i even really mention this is because such a huge amount of england's material aid came from north America, and yet most of the convoys derive from west Africa and the Mediterranean. In this respect, submarines are incredibly underpowered because destroyers can see them from a tile space away, and the AI's navy is sort of default programmed to trawl every sea tile and will eventually just run into them.


There has been talk of a trigger in early 1941 to send a good junk of America's destroyers to England, and this would be a good start too. As it is, England's navy is pretty crazy strong, and it translates into a fortified position in western Europe that only a determined human opponent can crack. The result is that the AI fighting the AI, England crushes Germany every time. It makes Italy and Russia games somewhat less interesting having to help or just hope that Germany is strong enough to do most of the legwork.
 
USA troops on the Europe 39-45 map are still planned, from Operation Torch to D-day.
 
Se that would be interesting but since a huge amount of the Russian air force came via Alaska - Siberia and from there across Russia you would have to make some really en genius solutions to make all the historically correct deliveries witch in turn ups the amount of effort that would have to be put in to what is, lets face it, the holy grale of WWII mods the world scenario... china's air force the Chinese civil war dutch east India and so on and so forth... man am i talking for implementing more stuff or not? well right now I would say making the 36 world map work as a first priority and then ad scripts on later as people can make small stuff them self and give to gede to compile in to updates...
