On the "Cheat" page of this web site it says that you can get the benefits of roads and railroads on ocean squares by moving a settler into a boat and pressing "R". I tried this and it did not seems to work; it told me that "that action is not possible here" or something like that! Needless to say, this has caused me many sleepless nights, tearing out my hair in angry fits of recrimination and self-hatred! Where did I go wrong?!  :vomit:

Are you sure you didn't read this in the Civ 1 section?

Yes that is from Civ1.IIRC you could see them but you couldn't actually move on them.

Too bad.Real bridges would be great.Something like any land seperated by 3-4 ocean squares.Defending and capturing/destroying these would be very important.Especially in a MP game.Would have made some great scenarios also.

I'd like the feature of building a land square in the ocean or lakes, like the dutch do, or like these Russian lakes (although that probably wasn't the intention). The opposite would be good to, the perfect SSC spot, but it's one square away from land and would give plenty of wasted ocean squares. Channels would be nice too, withoput building a city.

Changing ocean and land could be abused very much though, so maybe they're not as good ideas, but the channel would be nice.:)
