Rallying call for all interested: Colonisation of the Moon mod!

Here's the spreadsheet pretty much unchanged except palladium = tungsten now as for XML just run through one upgrade path and we can cut paste it all together

Okay, I'll basically add some 2nd era sometime. When I redid the units right after you posted that I followed that spreadsheet fairly closely. I think we need additional level promotions for the shock, surprise, ect. Maybe level 1 = 40%, level 2 = 80%.

Looks good overall. I reckon that the heavy infantry moves in vehicles as well, so to speak? Otherwise I would find it odd that a suited man be equipped enough to take down flying craft.

How about "Guided Missile Battery" instead of "Heavy Missile Battery"?

Another thing that pops up, is the effectiviness of the defensive battery's intercept power. Will this be offset by the parameters of the flying craft?

O yes:
Colonial Era
Explorative Era
Lunar Renaisance Era
Future Era
My on-the-spot ideas for the Era-names. ;)

Heard about the snowfall on ITN tonight - any of you lot affected?

We *seriously* need some rain here in the UK. And in Parliament the government just won on the ID cards debate! Gaargh! :gripe:

I had a day of snow and consequent meltwater in my house when the temperature rose again. :(

You mean from now on you have to carry ID cards? :D

When we renew our passports, yeah. The UK has always been one of those countries without a central ID card database - one of its virtues when one looks closely.

I watched the results on the live feed from the House of Commons in the Palace of Westminster. 310 to 279, and that with almost the entire Opposition present and Tony Blair stranded in South Africa!

IN your house? Eep. Hope it wasn't too bad.

@Woodelf: In your tech tree file you give an entry for the Isolation tech - but it doesn't exist!

Sorry for the treble post. But here's the complete, updated, all-signing, all-dancing Civics file for your personal enjoyment.

EDIT: actually added the file. :shakehead

No damage on my stuff, and since it's a rental house (which I hope to leave within a few months) I don't care for the damage it does to the house itself. Landlord has been warned in the past, but simply refuses to work on it. 't Will be on his head.

Time to get to some personal enjoyment. :D

rocket=unguided missile, all missiles are guided by our definition, heavy means theyre bigger and there are more of them, heavy infantry is a heavily armed platoon equipped with tank killing weaponry, light infantry is just that light quick stealthy and deadly to troops not inside tanks or APCs, our tank units are WWII variety, designed to lead infantry into combat and protect them but in need of infantry support, modern tanks are mostly designed for tank on tank combat

@woodelf, i agree they should get a free one and then the ability to upgrade it, possibly with prereqs, since they will get exp from being built etc

@JBG, im on the west coast, its 70 degrees and sunny, the trees are in full bloom and we should see the famous california wild flower blooms in the next couple weeks or so, isnt having and ID card a good thing? i mean i see pictures of muslims with signs saying death to the west europe your 911 is coming and this is in london, kinda scary, freedom of speech doesnt cover incitement to murder etc. btw, UK is in for a conservative revolution a la canada, hopefully in time for europe to shake off its post-modern socialist hangover and defend itself otherwise you can be a proud citizen of Europistan, maybe we should give them a space agency hehe

edit-
@geo heavy infantry can take down aircraft, in fact the Unmanned aerial vehicle squads SHOULD be able to and tank killing weapons are good at destroying aircraft also (see rocket propelled grenade)

edit 2- on eras:
Colonial Luna
Abandoned Luna
Free Luna
Future Luna

Oh, I'm all for a Conservative (capital C) revolution! Time for the Tories to get back into Number 10! David Cameron all the way! &c, &c.

But with any luck, Gordon Brown (who everyone thinks will succeed Tony Bliar [sic]) will inherit a disintegrating Labour party and the current leader of Her Majesty's Opposition will storm the polls whenever we next have a general election. Back the blues!

Apparently they're staging Thatcher: the musical.

Oh, isn't there another remote island bastion that needs saving against a Common Foe? :D

@dsquared:
Well, there came my ignorance again, didn't know what UAV stood for.
You know, it is possible to have a mixed bunch of infantry and vehicles show a unit.
That way you could represent the transport vehicle of a heavy infantry, and the "crew" being killed when in action.

Could show the distinction between heavy and light infantry, but it only works if you put "single unit graphics" off in the option screen.

You mean Australia? Or New Zealand? You surely don't mean Ireland or Bahrain? Japan perhaps? Taiwan?

Couldn't you give the vehicle transparent windows and have the infantry model occupy exactly the same space as the vehicle? That way you could see in through the windows. I expect it can't be done, however. Firaxis, where the ************************ is the SDK editor? And yes, there is a word that fits. :p

well if you want to try it go ahead, im limited to reskinning existing models, and so far we arent using very many animations

edit yeah i didnt know which island either

The most advanced graphics editing program I possess is Microsoft Word. I wouldn't even know where to begin, I'm afraid.

Falklands in the eighties? :mischief: The Iron Lady herself was in the hot seat then IIRC.

Just a liiiiiittle more patience... :whipped:

Oh, right. I wouldn't exactly call Argentina a common enemy, though.

Apparently one of my neighbors was killed aboard HMS Sheffield - or the Coventry - can't remember which. But it was before my time...

Did you notice they named the two destroyers in Wing Commander 3 after those ships?

The Sheffield was sunk back then, I remember reading the article about it. (yeah, I'm geriatric ;) )

And no, never played WCIII so...
