I got an odd alert today.

I can think of a few reasons why you might get an alert that someone posted in a thread.
1. You're watching the thread.
2. You're watching the forum the thread is in.
3. You're following the user that posted.
4. You're mentioned in the post.

But none of these conditions are true, so why did I get this alert?

Solution
Was that post in this thread? If it was, then I think I got the alert for that post because I'm watching that thread, and then, before I saw the alert, it was moved and it updated to reflect the new thread it was in.
It could be that a bot slipped past security. Click on the username and report the account. The admins can check to see if it's legit. If so, no problem. If it's not legit, they'll delete/ban it.

I looked at i can into civfanatics account, and their posts (all three of them) look pretty human to me, but that's up to the admins to decide, so I can't really say if you're right or wrong.

I thought it was that "i can into civfanatics" paid for a premium membership level, one benefit of which is that every other poster gets notified of his/her every post.

Yes, that's correct, and that explains it .
So what am I supposed to think about this? Either my answer is objectively wrong, or it could be right, but nobody likes it?
We have currently no indications that this user is a bot :).
