Random crashes

I'm playing Civ3 GotY Edition, patched up to 1.29 and all that. Got the latest video drivers (that fixed the last problem I had). Running W2K, DX9.0a.
I'm playing my game just fine then when I go to give a unit a certain order, it just shuts down. No error message or anything. It's done it a couple times at certain points. Once, when I was in the Advisors screen and clicked on the Military advisor. The latest crash is when I go to tell a certain Worker to Irrigate on a certain spot.
I've adjusted hardware acceleration, reinstalled Civ3 and the patch, and nothing seems to work. I have over 500MB of space available (it only needs 50MB for swap file, right?).
Any ideas?

well...i do have a clue on the prob...it might be the score, everthing u do effects it..so it could randomly happen..also goignt o an ohter turn effects u're score

That used to happen to me ALOT, happened once today too. I just get annoyed and shut my pc down
