One thing that I miss from earth maps is the realistic mountain, desert, and water barriers. A mountain peak here and there doesn't do much, and it's certainly no Himalayas or Alps that funnels troops in certain limited paths. In real life, borders are defined by defensible barriers more than anything else, and I'd like to see this implemented in Civ as well, where a well-placed fort in a one-square mountain pass can be a genuine and significant barrier to an oncoming invasion. In general, I feel that Civ is too light on geography. Is there any way to adjust some worldbuilder file to create larger mountain or desert formations?
And while we're on the topic, I'd like to make deserts impassible to most troops except after a worker has built a road on them. Is this possible or just a hopeless dream?
