1. usa the strongest economy and conventional military with unmatched projection ability and bases around the world, second largest stockpile of nuclear weapons, and some strong alliances and as weve seen with afghanistan, and to a lesser extent iraq theres a lot of countries who can be persuaded to go along with them
Also they have huge cultural power, their movies, music and TV are seen aorund the world every day by millions, if not billions, no other nation can say that. Against them is their unpopularity among people, although as long as that dosent translate into unpopularity with governments then they dont care.
china, they have a fairly large but not very well developed economy, large population, large military, nuclear weapons, diplomatically well no one really likes them but they can probably coerce some of their neighbours and due to trade most people have to listen to them to some extent
they do have allies, Russia being one, and lots of African nations looking set to follow, also South america could become an area of infl;uence for them.
uk. a strong economy, fairly decent military with power projection abilities and some overseas bases, nuclear weapons special relationship with usa, good relationships with most of its former colonies, one of the eu big 3 so has influence within the eu
All true, although i thinke ventually theyre going to have to pick between the US and EU, I dont mean become an enemy of one, but to decide which one is their primary ally.
france, much the same as uk except their relationship with the usa isnt as strong, close relationship with germany
All true, social problems could be an issue, but thyey also have fairly strong cultural power.
japan, strong economic power, a decent enough military but very little power projection and no political will to project power, mange to get on fairly well with there neighbours although they are hindered by their history
Most of their neighbours hate them. A lot more than hate China anyway. I think their lack of will to project power is one of their striongest assets.
russia, still something of an economic power, large but mostly poorly equipped military, largest stockpile of nuclear weapons
energy is their biggest power, they are portrayed as bullies which will harm them in Europe, but probably not outside it, demographic issues could be a big hindrance.
germany, strong economy, good military but still lacking in power projection but not as lacking as japan, good relationships with their neighbour, arguably the most influential with the eu
Definitely the most influential, at the centre of the EU for sure.
