Also, about "what you're seeing," you've got to keep in mind, it's usually the people who really dislike something who are the most vocal. The ones who like it have little to complain about and are happily playing the game.

There's also a tendency to dramatically over-exaggerate complaints - even by those who enjoy the game. (See also: "Why does everyone hate Civ5.") We point out some flaws and describe some of the reasons were disappointed in Civ5 at release, and we're called haters or trolls, and told to go back to Civ 4 since all we wanted was Civ 4.5, etc. A bunch of nonsense, but the feverish hysterics only serve to create the perception that there's a lot more "hatred" for the game than is actually the case.

For my part, two stars. It's somewhat functional and looks pretty, but it doesn't currently play like an empire-building game; more like a bad tactical wargame with some cities and wonders thrown in for flavor. Hopefully more patching will bring the game closer to the product I thought I purchased in September; time will tell.

1 star since almost day1. Its the civ game I played the least, and something has to be done (other than putting DLC's for sale). AFAIK there hasnt been a patch since october. mmmm.
It reminded me of Sim City Society (except I found SCS largely bugfree). I use to love playing Sim City since the SC1 but SCS just lacked..... everything except for graphics. It felt like there was no point in playing it. I feel the same about Civ V.

I get bored too soon, nothing to really do and then more of nothing to really do.

Move that unit and that one too, next turn.
Repeat.

Ramesses doesn't like my face, very well. I knew him for 2 turns.

Move that warrior, worker will be done in 16 turns.
Move that warrior, move that scout.
Repeat.

Further down the line is just the same, repeat, repeat and repeat.

I'm bored before I get a horseman out or a sword, trying to mix things out to get a scientist or two, doesn't cut it.

So game after game I feel like to kill everything and by medieval I quit, and start a new game.

Only playing King, but why higher difficulties, when I HAVE to kill everything.

This is not CIV, but I give 2/5 for many other reasons.
