RBGC SG2 - In the Thick of It - TEAM N

After getting it I figured it would be over soon, the counter was set to 12 mnts until cultural victory time and all is well... Looking over everything, adjusting some spending so we're not wasting as much money (research could still complete in 1 with spending at 40/60 S/R), it all looked set to go.

February 2190 - Ummm... Ok, looking at the culture recalc I realized it was goig to take abit more than my 12 turns to win thegame, but fair enough. Zed-F said to just take it all the way in, and with the recalc likely to cover a couple of our soon to be built stabases that seemed like an excellent idea.

In other news a Historical preserve is started at Vesta and News networks are added to the queue.

In March we figure out how to make Artificial Planets and decide that Death Stars sound really cool and decide to go for it.

Medical Centers and a Stadium completes.

I realize that I don'tneed more constructors for a while as we are doing quite well as is and keep spending at 40/60.

The first Party Palace of President Walker's reign is built and a big bash is held in the vicinity of Torian space, they seem quite taken with our party attitdes.

In april we figures out that some guy named Tir-Quan really knew how to hold a mean party on an enemy planet. Better us than them.

Only two sectors not under our influence.

In May a stadium is built and there is only one sector - the dull Yor sector not under our control. The countdown really should hae started here, but doesn't. I'd have to wait another half a year for it.

June brings in the new fad of huge space faring disco-balls and we realize that we need a new way to organize the show and go for Star Federation. We also need a publicist and get acouple of News Networks online.

Hestia (Dengin's last planet) decided our party was better, while the Torians were just jealous of your delicious backyard Paridian BBQs and declared war on them.

July, August, September and October were all for nursing hangovers.

November saw the Alexians joining our party when Vitellius flips - I guess they didn't want to join the Torian's (whos transport ship was one move out).

December saw some Torians join us when Gauss flipped (former Drengin).

The Yor decided that the Torians were flipping the fastest and joined them.

In January 2191 I finally get the actual message that we control 90% of the galaxy... and we control 100%...

Feb-May - Been pushing out constructors like they are going out of fashion... and they will as I construct a couple of more party palaces... because I can.

June sees Alshain join us from the boring Altarians.

In September Ditla finally sees the light.

October brings the enlightened humans Regeneration.

December 2191 Hatch joins us from the Torians.

January 2192 sees Zeus flip

And then I press next turn... and we are :king:

Yupp we are the masters of the universe! All hail the :king: .

Party on! [party]

I apologize for the the lack of screenshots, but I still don't have my usual computer back from repairs and I'm not comfortable enough on this one do do anything with images.

Our score was 10243 MPS

Good job everyone, :goodjob: on a pretty routine cruise to victory. Now we can look at the other threads, yay! :)

Way to go!

Wonderful game everyone!

Outstanding play, folks. The initial scouting and landgrab lead to an easy victory. Team play, reporting, and communication was outstanding. :goodjob: by all.

Also nice to see that you have a little  in you, as you strayed south of the true neutral line :groucho:

Despite the lack of true evil this game turned out pretty interesting. I had a good time reading through the writeup. Good game. :D

Congrats to Team N on a fine performance. I must say, I was jealous when I realized you guys managed to grab Dester. We had to make our way without it. :)

Aye--that one eluded our evil grips--for a while at least.

After having read this, I once again apologize to team G for losing Dester to the Dreng:saiyan: OK, I'm not really that sorry. Good job team N. (Now on to read team E).

I think it was mostly a matter of where your first few colony ships went. Team E and G both settled northward or eastward with their first two colony ships, but we opted to settle Rathra with our first home-built colony ship. That paved the way for a relatively quick push westward compared with what the other teams managed. With Rathra settled early, it was able to take some of the load for westward settling off of Sol while Sol then focussed its attention northward.

Of course that was only possible because we decided to take a small delay on scouting out the northern stars, in favor of taking a scouting path that would reveal as many stars as possible quickly. In hindsight, that was a bit of a gamble -- the disadvantage was that it left our explorer out of position to help exploring the western sectors. Nevertheless, thanks to the sensors boost we seemed to do well enough scouting with colony ships.
