How was Ring City Placement strategy negated in C3C v1.5 and later?

Also, for those who have tried it, is there a significant benefit to RCP? Is it worth trying for two rings or is the second ring unrealistic?

I think in the future, in my vanilla games, I will merge my current OCP strategy to a RCP one, with 6 cities at a distance of 5 from my capital, and then just continue a sort of OCP from there...

Has anyone ever tried doing the full 8 cities at a distance of 3? How did that work out? I might also consider something more like that for my higher difficulty games.

Also, where can I read about ICS?

Ring City Placement only works in vanilla games and PtW. Coruption was redone in C3C.

at a distance of 4 or 5 from my the capital is good. 8 cities at a distance of 3 is tight.

CRp was negated by giving cities at the same distance a different corruption rank. When 2 cities are build at the same distance in c3c, they get their rank based on their age.

In civ and ptw, cr[ still works.

The benefits of crp are HUGE. a second ring is certaily advisable. I normally build 6 cities in my first ring at distance 4 and then a second ring at distance 7. In republic, the first ring will have almost no corruption, the second will have about 40% or so corruption i think.

when you build an FP, you have to be less carefull about the placement since it compares to cities closer to the capital. Any cities at distance 4 or less to the FP will have almost no corruption like your first ring, any cities at distance 7 or less will have corruption like your second ring.

Any cities outside your second ring are to be considered useless.
