Real Great Musicians (vanilla, R&F) - New Great Musicians with pictures and samples of their music

New Great Musicians with pictures and samples of their music:
- Kraftwerk (Autobahn, Trans-Europe Express)

This is an initial version of the mod, with only 1 artist. I want to find out if this kind of content is interested for players. If so, more artists will be added. My plan is to create ~10 new GMs for Atomic and Information eras. each with 2 Great Works of Music.

May I offer a suggestion? You might want to group additional great people into their own submods using the "More" verbiage.

So it would be main mod - Real great people.

Submod - "More" real great (insert type here).

That way people would realize all the great ppl portraits you've done are in main mod and additional great people you are adding to the game (with portraits) are in thier own sub mods?

Just a thought.
 
Hi Infixo,

Knowing that you created the Real GP and Real GM mods, I figured I would bring some leftover files to your attention.

There are audio files corresponding to a third great work of music for all the base-game musicians. Maybe you might consider reintroducing these works and adding an extra slot to the Concert Hall building in your Real GM mod? There are also voice recordings of two quotes each from five 20th century great writers that could not be included in the final game due to copyright issues, presumably. These are John Steinbeck, Sigrid Undset, Agatha Christie, Gabriela Mistral, and Karen Blixen. Putting these back into the game would help with the lack of writers in the late game. I can send these audio files to you myself if you're interested in making a "Real Great Writers" mod.
 
Dec, 27. Currently the music samples don't play. It seems that one of the patches broke them. Unfortunately after some digging into the issue I don't know how to fix it. I suspect the problem lies with WWise config and proper soundbank generation. There is no guide for audio modding. When I created this mod I've spent a lot of time to discover how to add working music samples and it was mostly trial & error. Any help fixing this issue will be appreciated.
 
The audio files now have to be located in "...\Platforms\Windows\Audio" for them to play, instead of in their own audio folder. Ofc, the modinfo needs to be updated with the new file paths as well. I've attached something that should work (I threw it together real quick), but don't have time to test it right now.

How did you come up with that?
I was debugging SeelingCat's Magnum Opus mod for them after the NFP was released back in May and just copied the way the DLCs added sound.
 
Hey @Infixo, I'm amazed at all the great work you put in your mods!

I guess this one will work with the latest GS / NFP patches?

Text only comes in English, it seems? Are you interested in translations to French? (I can do it, you just need to tell me what files I should put the translated text in).
